Loving a man unconditionally is the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. I’ve always heard that it takes a village to raise a child (which I’ve found to be true) but no one ever told me it takes a village to love a man and follow him on his dreams….UNCONDITIONALLY. The village I’m referring to is not the one you think. It’s not one filled with an army of friends and family. Instead it’s filled with God and just a few good family and friends that will pray for you both during the darkest of times. This village will always bring you to your knees and lead you into deep prayer. When I hear people talk about how love makes them feel…I know that they are not truly in love yet. True love is about doing the work. Love is very much like children…it doesn’t give…its job is to take….take you to the next level of Faith and Hope. You can’t walk that path just by basking in the sun and smiling. Its job is to challenge you both and it will keep asking you…are you willing to do the work? It’s not just about what you received…it’s about what you are giving every single moment of the day. It’s a plant you have to continuously water and keep in the sun so that it can grow. And please don’t forget to water it on the dark and dreary days for it’s in those moments that you will know if you truly love. Yea…that’s unconditional love in my opinion.
