ONE Year Anniversary Podcast Series THANK YOU!??

Around 4:30am today, I dropped the 5th and final podcast series episode for my one year anniversary of being a lifestyle blogger! Y’all better catch up! I really want to say thank you to my performers: Alexis Skyy (West Coast), Scarlet (Australia), Grace (The South), and Nicole (Jamaica) for bringing my work to life! I am both honored and humbled! Shout out to Davincii Productions for letting me use your beats and ANS Studios for mixing this masterpiece! Words can’t describe how grateful I am to my producer, Loyalist, for taking a small idea and making it LARGER THAN LIFE! I am so proud of this series! Thank you so much, Loyalist, for seeing it through and going through every single detail and concern with me!? To the Michaels family, this ride is so crazy! Thank you guys for encouraging me along the way! Love you Mommy and Daddy!? Special shout out to the ToiTime blog for all the support! Lastly, but not really last, I want to thank all my readers and listeners! Please give me some feedback on the series on this post. It’s been a while but you knew sooner or later we were going to take another spin in The Land Of Pimps And Hoes (Corporate America)! Here at Kingston Expressions we are serious about our coins so any tips we can pass on to help you get your coins up…we damn sure will! Now we all know someone at work who gets paid to virtually do NOTHING! Sometimes that person is our boss! But I’m not going to go there just yet! Lately, I’ve been witnessing some really lazy behavior in all areas of work and/or customer service. I know someone who works a front desk job for a major corporation that sits on her fat pussy (she’s actually tiny but I need to paint you a picture of where I’m going). This chick barely wants to answer the phones much less questions from other employees in the office. ALL her coworkers complain about her laziness as they pick up the slack and do the work she couldn’t bother herself to do! Cute looks is fine and all but why the fuck come to work if you just going to sit on your “fat” pussy and not do jack shit? The only job I know you can willingly do that at and it’s acceptable is….NONE!!! Even Strippers got to twerk for their FUCKING lives if they want their coins to turn into solid dollars! No one should be stripping for fun in this damn economy! If you gonna do “bad” you better work hard at it and have a house, car, and a damn college degree paid for in CASH while having your down payment ready for your starting your own business! Don’t be getting ashy ankles and a bad name at the strip club for nothing! Get them coins and have a fucking business plan!!!! But I digress! Now back to Miss “fat” pussy….chick….even prostitutes got to work hard for their money! If busting a nut in your face gonna cost 200 extra for a john…you best believe a hoe better put on a good show! Now y’all know I will take it there and play devil’s advocate to make a point. Definitely not promoting prostitution! But if you want to excel at anything in life and keep excelling…you have to fucking work for it! I AM TALKING TO GENERATION Y NOW! To the “snap chat me that pussy generation” aka the social media generation….y’all are coming off as lazy, uninspired, spoiled, flashy with nothing to really flash, and just plain dumb no matter how many degrees/trades y’all got! I’ve been working in this country since I was 14 years old. The summers I wasn’t working….I was assisting my family with raising kids. I am from the school of the hard knocks and lazy just isn’t a thing. Now I’m not saying that some of those people working down at the DMV since I got my license at 18…weren’t lazy. The same chick walks up and down the line that’s usually 3 blocks down, rude, unenthusiastic, barely willing to answer questions, and yet has job security! ? But she is not the symbol of my generation! She is the exception! Back to Miss “fat” pussy. If you haven’t guessed by now…I call her that because she must think that that’s the only reason she got a job! It can’t be for her skills?! I am firm believer that whatever your current job is…you work hard at it for two important reasons: 1. Great work ethics learned early on will advance you at a company or give you the tools you need to be a successful entrepreneur! And 2. You never know who is watching you and what great opportunities you may land just by the virtue of your ambition and how hard you are willing to work! It boggles my mind that some of these half assed (lazy) employees complain about not having a better job and actually think they deserve a better job…just by the virtue of them saying so! Let me get this straight…you have been mopping floors at McDonald’s for 8 years, still not mopping under the table and chairs, only mopping the parts of the floor your boss can see, AND STILL haven’t been promoted to make fries or to cashier?! Get the fuck out of here?! ? You must be slow! Have you never heard of “hustle hard…closed mouths don’t get fed on the boulevard?!” Yea I’m trying hard to relate to these younger lazy folks. Even some rap songs tell y’all to get off your asses and WORK! The crazy thing is…in this economy when it’s an employers’ market….how the fuck do you still have your job?!!!!! I may need to be asking your employer this very same question! I came to this country off of family members cleaning shit and working in factories! No way I can be lazy with all the sacrifices that were made for me…before and after I was old enough to know!?? I am forever grateful to my parents, the Michaels, for sacrificing everything for my well being and my education! I can only hope…I continue to make them proud!!! Even if you have been given everything in life and no sacrifices were made for you…shouldn’t you want to aim to be a better person than you were yesterday? Find whatever that motivates you and become a better employee/boss! Some of us are just sick and tired of doing our work along with yours while only collecting one sorry paycheck! “Please check yourself before you wreck yourself!” Lawd…young folks Google that one! But get your shit together! I know the unemployment line is no longer a physical one but even the virtual online one isn’t pleasant! Remember that someone else would kill for the opportunities you have! Also, remember to dress AND work for the job you want…not the job you have! This is a great time to shout out those strippers in big cities who own their own house and car AND have a degree with no student loans balance!?? I am not knocking what you do but will knock some of y’all for going against the status quo without having anything to show for it! Shout out to my Daddy for keeping me off the poles…cause y’all know you can’t be doing that shit if you have a loving and caring Daddy that raised you! No ma’am! You can’t! Lol!

One Year Of Life Style Blogging=HAPPINESS

I started to write this blog on the evening of Serenity Saturday and fell asleep! So here we are on a Serenity Sunday?! Lawd knows we all need at least one day in the weekend to rest, meditate, and reflect! So glad we have this one! As you know, the anniversary of my first post was September 6! Of course on that day, I was still on my ME time vacation and just too relaxed to write. Sorry about that! I promise to get my shit together soon! Stick with me and keep believing in me!?? Now let’s move on to what I’ve learned during my first year of life style blogging….I think at my 7 months mark I wrote down some lessons I’ve learned thus far. If you are thinking about starting a blog, you may want to check that one out. As for where I am now….this last year has been filled with so many ups and downs. I have bared my soul, shared my disappointments, and made myself naked (vulnerable) to you all! That has not been easy as I’m sure I have been judged every step of the way. But this journey…I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Even at times when I was embarrassed to share things going on in my life, I opened up that door. The strength and courage it takes to be that transparent and vulnerable…well let’s just say I didn’t think I had it in me. I remember when I first started the blog. It took me forever (or what felt like it) to write something down. I wanted it to be PERFECT. Maybe even read like Shakespeare, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, or just anyone deep and complex! But I soon learned that a life style blog is about anything BUT perfection! When a reader (or listener ?) writes me publicly or personally about something similar going on in their lives and what my blog has done for them…my heart skips a beat! When my parents read and listen to some of my work (the PG 13 ones?) and say they love it…my heart skips a beat. When I reread something I wrote months ago and see how much I have grown (or not grown ?)…my heart skips a beat. This blog is my baby and boy has she grown! I have readers and listeners all over the world and I cannot wait for my fan base to grow! So much more to share and so much more to learn! I am forever a work in progress and as it turns out…that’s the best way to be when writing a life style blog. You see fashion bloggers focus on the perfect look for the perfect occasion and gossip bloggers focus on anyone else’s misfortunes but their own…but with a LIFE STYLE BLOG…you are walking around stalk naked in all your mess…ready to dive in and share! Now that’s tough work! To all my readers that have stuck with me, I thank you! To Toi from ToiTime blog, I thank you for being a great blog mentor and friend! To Willow, I thank you for being a sister to me and allowing me to share some of your deepest and personal stories of triumph! To Nicole, thank you for pushing me to make this blog a self hosted site and believing in my dreams and talents! To the man (the Ex Factor) who I love to hate in many of my blogs, I thank you for being patient and understanding and loving me despite all my flaws! You are either secretly crazy or you truly do love me. FYI he does have access to the blog as well as Elijah and Julio! They got the URL though I am sure the rest skip most of it…just like the Ex Factor. Love you baby…from here to insanity and back! ? It Sucks To Be The FIRST To Break Him In (Ring The Alarm Edition)

Do you guys remember when Beyoncé dropped the song “Ring The Alarm” from the album B’day?! I immediately fell in love with it but for some reason mainstream America and pop culture didn’t!!! For those who don’t know, “Ring The Alarm” is an anthem ALL women who knew their men when they were boys and had a hand in “molding” them should learn by heart! Beyoncé gonna ring the alarm (aka fuck him up in my opinion) if the man that SHE upgraded tries to ever leave her for another woman!?? B, I’m right there with you (bat in hand and all)! That’s right…way before Beyoncé got some of y’all chicks in “FORMATION” and had you sipping on “LEMONADE,” B tried to forewarn y’all about what would happen if you upgrade an ungrateful man! But was y’all listening?! Nooo! So ten years later…we had to get our asses in “Formation” for not heeding Beyonce’s message with “Ring The Alarm.” Now let me say this….I’m not a Beyoncé fan but I respect her hustle and support when I can! Jay Z should have named her “the hardest working chick in the game” instead of the “baddest chick in the game!” Beyoncé be channeling her inner Jamaican self….unbeknownst to her…when she drops album after album…even when pregnant! All hail Queen B!?? But I digress. This blog isn’t about Beyonce’s success. It’s got an even deeper message. I look at the Savannah James’ verses the Majorie Harvey’s of the world and I lose my mind! Now let me be clear….I love both women! But they are good examples for where this blog is going. Savannah has known LeBron since they were teenagers, gave birth to two of three of their children before they got married, and stayed with LeBron as he turned into “King James!” Now she don’t look it…but you know home girl been through some THANGS! I can’t even say things! Shit! Props to her for standing with beauty, grace, and smiles while LeBron grew the fuck up! Like I said…I don’t know them personally but I know the fuck what I have been through with the Ex Factor these last 6 years and he isn’t famous!!! His 20s bout to be the death of me or give me some serious jail time because most of the time…I’m looking at the Ex Factor like “no him bloodclot didn’t?!” See blog about the “puppy pissing all over my fucking carpet” for reference! Savannah, girl, can you send me YOUR playbook because these are trying times and I’ve spent 6 years loving a boy who will one day be an amazing man and I will be damned if some other chick comes along and claims the motherfucking final product! Now onto to Marjorie “fly ass” Harvey aka….Steve Harvey’s third wife! Now she may have had some influence on his “Think Like A Man” franchise but so probably did those two prior divorces! Wow! I’m about to lose it! ✌?️ I don’t know for sure but I can almost bet money that his first wife didn’t get this thoughtful, loving, and RICH Steve…Marjorie got! Girl…I pray she is somewhere living her happiness and they all get along well! But if I were her (and maybe she or the second wife did this) I would RING THE ALARM! I mean…I’m mentally out there swinging bats for all the girlfriends, baby mamas, and first wives who put their hearts and souls into supporting a man on his dream and when he became greatness…he bounced with some chick that never had to get dirt on her ankles! Bitch I think not! Back the fuck up! Too much work and too much time was put into this man! Matter of fact….I’m about to channel my inner Angela Bassett in “Waiting To Exhale” and have all his shit burning on my front lawn! Figuratively of course!? Now I’m not saying every first wife molded her man…not saying that at all but for every woman who did…this blog is for you! Sometimes I just want to give up on the Ex Factor! He takes so much patience and understanding that I’m digging for those things in the crevasses of my asshole and am pretty sure they don’t exist! But I’m a mess too….so he could be saying the same about me!? Boys are typically (I’ve found this to be true from my own experiences) many years behind girls from birth! I want to say they start behind in the fucking womb but I have no actual proof of that as I have never been pregnant but I’m willing to bet money on it! Smdh! What we women go through with men is just too fucking much and I hear it’s a lifetime thing! Your man could be 50 years old and still give you a “what the fuck was he thinking…let me get this brick and hit him in the face” moment. Though KJM never promotes violence. ? This is more of a mental exercise! Woosa! Woosa! If I am molding a man to be my King, I’m not just going to easily let another woman come get the fruits of my labor! No way baby! And if they do leave…it’s better to be the wife than the long term girlfriend because at least if you get the right divorce lawyer…a good settlement may be coming your way! The Freedom To Be A Basic Bitch (The Oh How I Wish I Could Edition)

Well! Well! It’s Charm School Monday! Typically we learn deep life lessons on this day but NOT today! We are about to get ignorant! First off, I’ve had some down time in the last few days from my day job so my entire focus has been on my blog anniversary project and all the women helping me with it. I’m so preoccupied that I haven’t worn makeup since last Wednesday! Now if you know me personally….you know I have naturally flawless brown skin and I have no issues with rolling out the house with just some clear lipgloss and eye liner (I can’t leave either behind). But generally my face is always beat for the gods!?? Now before I dive into the ignorant mess we are about to discuss….I want to speak to the basic bitches. If you are one…you may want to stop reading! I’m not hating…I’m just stating my opinion. For those who don’t know what a basic bitch is…this is my definition: a simple woman, who doesn’t take care of herself, always got something negative to say about other women who do take very good care of themselves, no ambitions, no goals, a doormat, and essentially a hater herself. Now that we have that covered…on to the NEXT! In general, the basic bitch is not my friend. However, sometimes I envy her freedom to never have pressures to be something….GREAT! The basic bitch doesn’t have to educate herself. She doesn’t need “me” time….she is whatever people want her to be. Me time would put her in a position to think and reflect and that’s just a hell no for her! The basic bitch doesn’t worry about pleasing a soul…not even herself because her “basicness”…for lack of a better word…is enough! She don’t got to keep her waist tight. Forget fashion….usually whatever this green eyed monster (as in jealous individual) sees her friend OR her enemy wearing is what she will be putting on next. The basic bitch doesn’t have to have a personality! As a matter of fact, if one took a deeper look into her mental…the basic bitch has a personality of wet paint drying on a wall! Men (really boys) will choose her over driven women every time because…lets be honest….the basic bitch takes no issue with having a man climax all over her face! Yum! Cum Shots…she exclaims! So much about the basic bitch confuses me. She doesn’t even have to set hair appointments cause to be honest no man gives a damn what she looks like. Forget a mani or pedi! Them toes haven’t been touched in decades unless upon request! These boys know she’s not going anywhere and that’s why they love her! And her self esteem is that of any person within 50 feet of her. She has no real identity! And that’s her real charm! The basic bitch would be forgettable if not for the fact that she lurks behind us strong, driven, and beautiful women! She’s simple minded and just about anything pleases her but don’t you dare call her out on her…“basicness” because she will deny it every step of the way! Still even with all her negative traits, there’s one thing I admire about the basic bitch….she never has to be anything but basic! So here I am on day 5 of not wearing any makeup nor dressing up and a little voice is saying…Kingston, you should have started off your day with a 5 mile run, showered, dressed to the nines, and then took yourself out for a shopping spree and a great lunch! So here I lay in all my “unbasicness” feeling bad about neglecting myself for the last 5 days! Oh the guilt is real! I’m currently dressed up in a beautiful dress (at home lol) blogging, working on my blog anniversary project, and preparing myself for the rest of my work week! Oh why oh why can’t I be basic?! I’m still not wearing any makeup but my skin is glowing and I feel more like my normal self now that I’ve ditched my house clothes. But why oh why can’t I have some of the same freedoms of the basic bitch?! I would sleep better if I had no goals and didn’t have two careers! Oh the basic bitch must feel so restful all the time! On days like this, when I’m short on sleep and obsessed with my projects being executed to perfection, I dream about temporarily being a basic bitch. But even Kingston Jael Michaels can’t live out that nightmare for too long! I’m a BOSS!?? So onto the next project with probably another sleepless night ahead of me….I still got time though…to shout out my basic bitches!? ~KJM on Charm School Monday saying….oh how I wish I could be basic…even for 5 seconds lol ?

Your Dreams Fulfilled=Serenity

Happy Serenity Saturday! To be honest…it’s another Saturday of me…not feeling…serene! But I “whoosa” and I blog anyways because if there is one thing that we should strive for…it’s serenity! Today I want to remind you that you should never work harder at someone else’s dreams…than you do your own!?? Lets soak that up for a second….what are your dreams? No matter what age you are…I know you have some. I have heard it’s harder to follow your dreams and passions when you have a family because you always have to put their needs first. I cannot speak on trying to following your dreams with a family but I beg even you parents to not give up on all your dreams! Now to the rest of you! Yes! Those of you who have had your dreams sidetracked because of depression, heartache, self esteem issues, negative people, or just got up and frustrated with the fact that it hasn’t happened yet. HOLD ON AND DO NOT GIVE UP! Take me for example. On average I pull 50-80 hour work weeks at my day job! This schedule is not only breaking my body but sometimes my spirit. My managers always expect me to work harder for their dreams and their companies because I don’t have a family of my own and they are use to seeing me work my fingers to the bone! Well in September 2015, the joke was on them! I started this blog on Tumblr first and then in December 2015 launched my self hosted site!?? The Good Lord made it that I have more passion to write you guys as much as I do on my long commutes than I do on my days off!??That’s right…my struggles have inspired me! I put this blog BEFORE my day job and I write you guys extra early in the morning where my mind is fresh and my spirit is on fire! I am now working harder at my dreams than I am theirs! It took some discipline and some commitment but what I’ve found is I have no issue committing to myself! I just needed to have the courage to do so! I stepped out of my comfort zone and took a leap of faith that my generally tired and broken self (speaking of my physical body) would awaken when I was stepping in my purpose…even if that purpose starts at 4am!?? When I tell you I am always up with my parent friends…it’s no joke! While some of you are rocking your babies…I’m on the move! This blog and building my brand are dreams…other people saw in me. They are now in fact my new dreams and I’m so in love with it! Whether we laugh or cry here at Kingston Expressions, my heart is filled with joy as I put my blood, sweat, and tears into everything I write on here! Let’s soak that in…MY BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS….FOR MY DREAMS! When are you going to step into your purpose?! When are you going to make yourself so uncomfortable that you are soaring in faith?! Do not be afraid and do not give up! Your purpose is worth that much! It’s worth the risk! It’s worth the hardships! It’s worth the breakdowns! It’s worth the moments you feel lost! And it sure is worth the moments where you find out who you are and what you are made of! Walking in faith to a find our purpose and living it out…equals SERENITY! The Life And Times Of The Alpha Female (The Myths And Truths Edition)

Happy Charm School Monday! Get your paper and pen ready because we are boldly going where few have gone…into the life and times of the Alpha Female! Let’s get started on some myths and truths! MYTH 10: THE ALPHA FEMALE DOES NOT EXIST! Well she sure does! I am living proof that she is not a myth. The Alpha Female is alive and well! Breathing life and conquering the world with every move she makes! MYTH 9: THE ALPHA FEMALE CAN ONLY BE CREATED BY ANOTHER ALPHA FEMALE! The Alpha Female is a survivor! She can be created out of necessity! A higher force drives her. She may be born in burnt ashes and still rise!?? This Alpha Female, however, was created by an Alpha Male, Papa Michaels! He has always supported and encouraged me to be a tiger at all I do! And he loved me from the moment he found out I was a girl…never wishing I was a boy! Love you Daddy!? MYTH 8: THE ALPHA FEMALE HAS NO DESIRE TO BE MARRIED NOR HAVE CHILDREN! Each woman, Alpha Female or not, has her own plan in life. A husband and children does not hold the Alpha Female back. They may very well be part of her divine plan. The point is…it is HER plan and she can write her story however she wants to!?? MYTH 7: THE ALPHA FEMALE IS A LESBIAN! Um…definitely not. We can be straight, lesbians, or just straight up have no desire to be identified as any gender! It’s our natural born given right to define ourselves how we see fit…not how society sees us!?? MYTH 6: IF THE ALPHA FEMALE IS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A MAN, SHE MUST DOMINATE HIM! Sigh…this one really gets us into trouble. Most married Alpha Females that I know are a dominant force in their careers but tread lightly in their marriage. However, they are not weak in marriage! Far from it! MYTH 5: THE ALPHA FEMALE LOVES TO CUT A MAN’S BALLS OFF! True Alpha Females may accidentally emasculate a man in work or love. Fake alpha females will walk around talking about they run shit and they give true Alpha Females a bad name! Run yourself… A true Alpha Female does not have to beat her chest to prove a point! She moves with strength silently so that no one sees her coming. Even her love is full of strength! The Alpha Female is built to be the equal partner of her spouse! If he falls or has a hard day, they won’t have to worry about much because she’s got him! ?? Plus you know balls confuse some of us (like me), so until we figure out what to do with them…we would prefer that our men have theirs in tact!? MYTH 4: THE ALPHA FEMALE DOES NOT FEEL LIKE SHE NEEDS ANYONE! Now not even the Alpha Male can survive this life alone. Like the Alpha Male….the Alpha Female needs love, family, friendship, and a full life. The thing with her is if life didn’t hand her all of these things…she continues to thrive…and work towards her true destiny and purpose while creating her own opportunities along the way. The Alpha Female’s wants and needs with always be fulfilled because she is at the center of her own universe! Her needs do not fall to the wayside as she takes on other responsibilities and grows in love and life. The Alpha Female is a balanced woman. There’s nothing she cannot do when she puts her mind to it! MYTH 3: THE ALPHA FEMALE IS A PROVIDER! For the most part, this myth is true! The Alpha Female’s ability to take care of herself will always be her driving force to reach higher in life! She’s unstoppable! Essentially she sets herself up in a way, where if she is falling…she can catch her damn self!?? MYTH 2: THE ALPHA FEMALE HATES OTHER WOMEN! The Alpha Female is a mentor! She is a lover of all women. If she sees one trying to advance in their career…she should make herself available to guide, answers questions, and give a listening ear to any woman who may need her help! There’s really enough room for us all to live in this world. So if you spot a woman who is successful yet petty and spiteful…she is a fake alpha female! Being an Alpha Female takes more than being successful in your career and in life…it takes setting the stage for up and coming Alpha Females!?? MYTH 1: THE BEST PARTNER FOR THE ALPHA FEMALE IS AN ALPHA MALE! I beg to differ…the best mate for me (the Ex Factor) thus far is not an Alpha Male. He’s laid back yet strong. He is my polar opposite, in a good way, that balances me out. While I have dated a lot of fake alpha males (Julio and Elijah for sure) and may not know much about this particular topic, I think real Alpha Males may not pair well with real Alpha Females! I can’t see a lion and a tiger in a cage making out very well! Now I am not saying that there aren’t Alpha Males and Females paired off together successfully! It is very possible that this combination works for some. As for me, I need the balance. A silently strong man who picks and chooses his battles wisely as he loves and cares for me…is where I feel at peace the best.
